A partire da Marzo 2024, Infra4NextGen, il nuovo progetto finanziato per quasi 10 milioni di euro dalla Commissione europea, riunirà i risultati delle principali infrastrutture di ricerca nel campo delle scienze sociali e politiche a sostegno del piano di ripresa NextGenerationEU e delle politiche per i giovani dell’Unione europea.
Infra4NextGen (Providing research infrastructure services to support NextGenerationEU) avrà una durata di quattro anni, sarà coordinato dall’European Social Survey (ESS ERIC) e riunisce alcune tra le principali infrastrutture di ricerca come CESSDA ERIC, European Values Study (EVS) e Gender and Generations Programme (GGP) insieme alla City, University of London, all’Università degli Studi di Milano e alla Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
L’Università di Milano e spsTREND partecipano al progetto con Ferruccio Biolcati Rinaldi, EVS National Program Director per l’Italia e Chair di EVS Scientific Committee, e David Consolazio, ricercatore in sociologia presso il Dipartimento di scienze sociali e politiche.
I partner di Infra4NextGen creeranno un inventario dei dati di opinione pubblica già raccolti dalle indagini transnazionali (Eurobarometro, European Quality of Life Survey, ESS, GGP, EVS e International Social Survey Programme) sui cinque temi di NextGenerationEU - Make it Green, Make it Digital, Make it Healthy, Make it Strong, Make it Equal – per “costruire un futuro più verde, più digitale e più resiliente” per l’Europa.
Queste informazioni costituiranno delle serie storiche che saranno integrate con nuovi dati raccolti attraverso il panel online probabilistico CRONOS (CROss-National Online Survey), previsto per cinque ondate in 11 paesi europei nei quattro anni del progetto.
Il progetto Infra4NextGen si doterà anche di un sito web (E-NextGen), a cura della European Association of Geographers EUROGEO e dalla Tilburg University per l’European Values Study, che consentirà – attraverso mappe interattive, infografiche, materiali didattici e brevi note di ricerca - la consultazione dei dati raccolti sui vari temi legati a NextGenerationEU da parte non solo di studentesse e studenti delle scuole superiori ma anche da parte del pubblico più ampio di cittadini e portatori di interesse.

Starting in March 2024, Infra4NextGen, the new project funded with nearly 10 million euros by the European Commission, will consolidate the results of major research infrastructures in the field of social and political sciences to support the NextGenerationEU recovery plan and the European Union’s youth policies.
Infra4NextGen (Providing research infrastructure services to support NextGenerationEU) will span four years, be coordinated by the European Social Survey (ESS ERIC), and bring together key research infrastructures such as CESSDA ERIC, the European Values Study (EVS), and the Gender and Generations Programme (GGP), alongside City, University of London, the University of Milan, and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).

The partners of Infra4NextGen will create an inventory of public opinion data already collected through transnational surveys (Eurobarometer, European Quality of Life Survey, ESS, GGP, EVS, and International Social Survey Programme) on the five themes of NextGenerationEU – Make it Green, Make it Digital, Make it Healthy, Make it Strong, Make it Equal – to “build a greener, more digital, and more resilient future” for Europe.
This information will form historical data series that will be supplemented with new data collected via the probabilistic online panel CRONOS (CROss-National Online Survey), scheduled for five waves across 11 European countries over the four years of the project.
The Infra4NextGen project will also launch a website (E-NextGen), managed by the European Association of Geographers EUROGEO and Tilburg University for the European Values Study, which will allow for the consultation of the data collected on various themes related to NextGenerationEU through interactive maps, infographics, educational materials, and brief research notes. This resource will be accessible to high school students as well as a broader public audience of citizens and stakeholders.
